The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI)

The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is an interdisciplinary centre that serves all schools of the University. Its core mandate is to fulfil the mission of the University by balancing education with experience through entrepreneurial projects that aim to solve society’s complex challenges. As a member of the prestigious Babson College Collaborative, the centre seeks to create pathways to entrepreneurship by providing students, alums, and faculty with the skills, tools, and mindset required to be enterprising.

JOB PURPOSE

Mahindra University’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is searching for an exceptionally qualified and accomplished professional to become a Tenured Faculty in entrepreneurship. The chosen applicant must possess expertise in entrepreneurship and demonstrate a record of excellence in research, teaching, and mentorship. Through this position, one can participate in the advancement of our institution’s academic excellence and influence the forthcoming cohort of entrepreneurs and innovators excitedly.

JOB OUTLINE

Research & Publication:

• Conduct entrepreneurship research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Secure external funding for research initiatives.
• Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary research projects.

Teaching and Curriculum Development:

• Develop and teach courses in entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly technology entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, lean methodology, family business dynamics, create course materials, and mentor students.
• Using experiential teaching pedagogies

Mentorship and Leadership:

• Serve as a mentor and advisor to graduate students, guiding research projects and career development.
• Play an active role in junior faculty member’s academic and professional development.
• Contribute to the growth and advancement of the entrepreneurship program and department.

Outreach and Professional Development:

• Participate in departmental and university committees, actively engage with the local entrepreneurial ecosystem to cultivate partnerships, and effectively represent the university at academic events.
• To remain up to date on the latest trends in entrepreneurship, it is recommended that individuals attend relevant events and cultivate a robust professional network

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• The candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• They should have a distinguished record of research achievement, including a significant publication history in reputable journals.
• It is essential that the candidate has demonstrated success in securing external research funding and grants.
• Proven excellence in teaching is essential, with experience in curriculum development and innovative experiential pedagogical approaches.
• The candidate should be committed to mentoring and advising students at various academic levels.
• They should possess leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse academic community.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with external stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem are also highly valued.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Practical experience in entrepreneurship, such as founding or leading a startup, working in venture capital or angel investing or serving as a consultant to entrepreneurial firms.
• A strong record of scholarly research in entrepreneurship, including publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
• Proven success in teaching entrepreneurship-related courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Development of innovative teaching materials, curriculum, and pedagogical approaches.
• Strong connections and engagement with the local and regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• Experience in working on interdisciplinary research projects.
