Infrastructure is the backbone of every country’s economy and becomes the very foundation for prosperity. With the advent of emerging technologies and automation, the conventional methods of infrastructural development is set to undergo a radical transformation.
At MU, our curriculum is designed with a futuristic perspective so that our students are equipped in advance to tackle any challenge that might arise from the new age technological-revolution. Civil Engineering offers sixteen departmental courses (50 credits) covering basic and advanced levels in mechanics/dynamics of soils, structures and fluids together with surveying, transportation, environmental engineering, construction technology and construction project management.
Five elective courses (15 credits), professional or open ones, allow for specialization in water resources, foundation, structure, transportation and environmental. Acquired knowledge and skills have to be applied in four departmental projects (15 credits).
Vision
Train civil engineers of excellence instilling scientific thinking and responsive leadership for ensuring innovative and sustainable development.
Mission
Dept. of Civil Engineering signed an MoU with ACCA software, Italy which will provide training and support to Civil Engineering Students.
ACCA Software-ACCA is the N°1 IFC-OpenBIM® expert. The company with the highest number of IFC certified software solutions in the world for the architecture, engineering and construction industries.
Laboratories
The Geology Laboratory focuses on the application of geology to civil engineering practice. The aim of is to make students understand earth-structure interactions and investigate how the earth and earth processes impact human-made structures and viceversa.
Students are trained to understand the properties of different rocks and minerals. Students are also trained to test and identify different rocks and their suitability to be used in civil engineering structures.
Equipments:-
The objective of transportation engineering laboratory is to determine the properties of coarse aggregates and bitumen. The students will be able to infer the suitability of these materials for construction of road. This laboratory course will help the students to understand the theoretical concepts learned in the course transportation engineering.
