Dr. Yogita Rana, IAS is the Principal Secretary to the Government, Education Department, Government of Telangana. A 2003-batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre, she brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to public administration, having qualified as a medical doctor with an MBBS degree prior to joining the Indian Administrative Service.
As Principal Secretary, Dr. Rana serves as the administrative head of the Education Department, overseeing policy formulation, governance, and implementation across the education spectrum in the state. She also represents the Government of Telangana on various official bodies, advisory councils, and education-related committees. Over the course of her career, she has held a range of senior administrative positions at both district and state levels, including collector-level and sectoral leadership roles, and is widely regarded for her strategic vision and sustained commitment to strengthening educational outcomes through effective policy and administrative reforms.
