Dr. Anjli Varghese is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ecole Centrale School of Engineering, Mahindra University. She received a PhD in 2024 from BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, India, in the domain of Image Processing and Machine Learning for Automatic Identification of Animal Species from Leather Samples. She created and published the novel open-source leather image dataset (LeaData), a digital library for leather species prediction. Her research interests include digital signal processing, digital image processing, machine learning, and computer vision.

Worked on a SERB-DST-funded project on the analysis of dysarthric speech signals using the vowel formant transformation technique.

Dr. Anjli Varghese received the 4-year Fellowship Award from the Tata Consultancy Services-Research Scholar Program (TCS-RSP), Cycle-15 (July 2019 – June 2023), for the project entitled “Automatic Leather Species Identification using Digital Microscopic Image Analysis.”
She is interested in extending research on AI applications for microscopic and biomedical image analysis and stock market data analysis.
