Dr. Gouthami Kothakapa is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mahindra University École Centrale School of Engineering.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati and an Integrated M.A. in Economics from the University of Hyderabad. Prior to joining Mahindra University, she worked as Assistant Professor at NMIMS Hyderabad and Amity Global Business School.
Dr. Gouthami is a Development Economist whose research interests lie at the intersection of Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion and Behavioral Economics. Her work explores how financial development, sustainability practices, and behavioral factors influence entrepreneurial growth and economic transformation in emerging economies. Her other areas of work focus on the political economy of development and India’s growth trajectory, examining how institutional dynamics, power structures, and policy shifts shape patterns of economic transformation in contemporary India.
