Dr. Sonal is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Mahindra University. She has completed her Ph.D. from Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in the area of grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship. Her Ph.D. research contributed to the entrepreneurship development of grassroots innovators. Furthermore, her research described how innovation potential can be explored and exploited for socio-economic development in a resource constrained environment. She also worked in the domain of regional foresight, circular entrepreneurship in tourism and leisure sector and technological innovations for sustainable development.

Lalit Kumar Das pioneered Industrial Design education at IIT Delhi. He developed a program that is an excellent blend of design sensitivities and industrial propensities. Many of his pupils have won awards in national and international design contests and oversee design studios in India.

Lalit Das did his B.Tech from IIT Kanpur. Thereafter he did his Master of Technology in Design Engineering from IIT Delhi and then Master of Art in Industrial Design from the Royal College of Art, London.

Lalit is deeply interested in design and the inherent ability of humans to create. He has worked and designed products for the office, home and industry. He has designed for the differently enabled like children with cerebral palsy and others who are orthopedically handicapped. He is the founding editor of Design for All India newsletter. He has also designed educational and research equipment. He has worked with artisans and has conceptualized distant education for artisans under the banner of IGNOU. He is deeply interested in sustainable approach to design and a non-parochial nonpartisan framework for study of design. He has conducted ergonomic studies for the Design of the Operational Control Centre for Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro and Hyderabad Metro, Western Dedicated Freight Corridor).

He has many publications to his credit. His doctoral students are in a variety of areas from emotion, sustainability, e-governance, image processing, frugal design, etc. He continues to supervise doctoral students at IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, DTU & NID. He has been developing the National Design Policy and is a member of the National Committee on Design and Artisan Development. He has widely travelled and has worked at the Industrial Design Centre, I.I.T. Bombay and at the Department of Fine Art, University of Manitoba, Canada.

Mr. Das has served as a jury for many national level design awards. He has been an Expert Member in the ‘Science & Society’ Program and Technopreneur Promotion Program (TePP) of Department of Science & Technology. In the past he also served as a local commissioner in two IPR related cases of the Delhi High Court. He was also a member of Program Advisory & Monitoring Committee member of the Government of India’s Design Clinic Scheme for MSME that provides financial & design support to MSME for development of new product design.

He has delivered TEDX talks on enabling innovation, and values that shape complex systems. He is deeply interested in Sustainable Design, Circular Economy and Emergent Systems.

He has been the guiding light in the setting of the Design Program at Delhi Technological University as an Honorary Faculty from 2018-2023. Dr. B. K. Chakravarty, the distinguished founding dean of Mahindra University, is a visionary educator and innovator with a rich legacy of accomplishments. Before his role at Mahindra University, Dr. Chakravarty established the Shenoy Innovation Studio at IIT Bombay, a pioneering initiative aimed at cultivating a culture of innovation and design thinking among students and faculty. Anuja Premika is completing her Ph.D. from the Department of Communication at the University of Hyderabad. Her work engages with questions of digital cultures, social media, and the creator economy through the lens of feminist media studies.

She has served as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at the Australian National University in Canberra. Her research and writing span peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, handbook contributions, and research reports, and she has presented her work at leading international and national forums, including the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the International Communication Association (ICA), and the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR).

Dr. Sreedhar Nemmani is an Assistant Professor of Communication at the School of Digital Media and Communication, Mahindra University, Hyderabad, India.

He has a Ph.D. from the Klein College of Media and Communication, Temple University. Sreedhar’s work focuses on the role of communication and media technologies (traditional and digital) in communities situated in multiple marginalities.

His research interests are in the intersections of the philosophy of communication, communication studies, media studies, science and technology studies, and religion. His work analyses the concept of communication through Buddhist onto-epistemic frameworks. Sreedhar is an ethnographer with extensive experience of conducting fieldwork and research projects in South Asia, Europe, and North America.

His Ph.D. dissertation involved nine months of ethnographic fieldwork among Buddhist communities in the Greater Himalayan regions.

Dr. Gunjan Sharma is an accomplished academician, media professional, and researcher with extensive experience in teaching, media production, and research. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at School of digital media and communication, Mahindra University. Dr. Sharma specializes in documentary filmmaking, video editing, data journalism, and PCR operations. Dr Sharma has made significant contributions to television and digital media, having worked as a Senior Producer at Riverbank Studios, where he led the production of the acclaimed wildlife series Earth Matters. Additionally, he has collaborated with organizations like UNDP, BBC, and Prasar Bharati on documentary and corporate film projects.

His research focuses on Eco Cinema and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leading to multiple publications in esteemed journals and conferences. He has presented her work at prestigious global forums such as IAMCR, ICA, and IIM, advocating for environmental conservation through media. Dr Sharma holds a Ph.D from GD Goenka University and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Dr. Minhaj Abdullah is an Assistant Professor at the School of Digital Media and Communication at Mahindra University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in Humanities and Social Sciences. His Ph.D. dissertation dealt with the politics of organising, performing, and communicating traditional performances in the Goalpara Region of Assam, India.

Jyotirmay has attended many certificate and diploma courses. Important among them are the Screenwriting and Filmmaking Course: Imaging Cinema at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2012 and the Theatre Appreciation Course at the National School of Drama, Delhi in 2019. He has attended Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) courses at IIT Delhi from 2017 to 2018. These courses include the Critical Philosophy of Race; Religion, Democracy, and Violence; Truth, Knowledge, and Capitalism in the Anthropocene; and The Psychology of Groups. He attended two Winter Schools organised by the University of Groningen (The Netherlands), Frobenius Institute, Goethe University of Frankfurt (Germany), and IIT Delhi (India)– Changing Grounds: Dynamics of Culture and Livelihood; and Performing Religion: Theory and Practice in 2019 and 2020, respectively. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for a SWAYAM-NPTEL Course on Text, Textuality, and Digital Media conducted by IIT Delhi in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

Jyotirmay’s research interests include the society and culture of Western Assam, traditional theatre and performance, and community media.

Before joining his present position at the Mahindra University Hyderabad, Dr. Jyotirmay Das briefly worked as an Assistant Professor at the Manipal University Jaipur in 2023 and as a Research Assistant at the Industrial Research and Development Unit- IIT Delhi in 2022. He worked as a Development Communication Professional in the Social Sector from 2010 to 2017. He was associated with the Centre for Alternative Dalit Media, National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organisations- Delhi; Society for Labour and Development- Delhi; Seven Sisters Development Assistance – Bongaigaon (Assam); National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, North East Regional Centre- Guwahati; and South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies- Hyderabad during those seven years. Jyotirmay currently manages a YouTube channel called Jajaboree Productions as a nostalgic remnant of a media production startup he founded in 2012.

Dr. Jyotirmay Das conducted his PhD Research on the Traditional Performances of the Goalpara Region in Assam at IIT Delhi from 2017 to 2022. After submitting his PhD Thesis in 2022, he assisted the Industrial Research and Development Unit, IIT Delhi, in a project for Data Annotation: Optical Character and Hand-Written Text Recognition for Indian Languages (Assamese). In 2016, he conducted two critical research on water safety and security. The first was in the form of a Communication Strategy for Accessing Safe Drinking Water in Kochari Gaon and Potiya Gaon in Melamati Village Panchayat, Titabor Block, Jorhat-Assam. The second research culminated in a documentary film on the water usage of the Musi river in Hyderabad, Telangana. The latter was shortlisted at the ‘We Art Water’ Film Festival in Madrid, Spain. In 2012, Jyotirmay carried out a Short Impact Study of the Promotion of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the Lower Assam Area. In 2013, he undertook a Photography Assignment on the Poi Sangken festival of the Tai Buddhist communities of the Bhitar Kalioni Monastery in Karbi Anglong, Assam. In 2012, he assisted freelance and BBC-Hindi correspondents during the communal conflict in Western Assam. From 2010 to 2012, Jyotirmay conducted numerous Corporate Social Responsibility research and projects for Bongaigaon Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited. He is presently working on Community Media.

Dr Rahul Dass has about three decades of rich experience, with nearly 25 years as a full-time journalist with leading media houses including the Hindustan Times, The Statesman, Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) and The Tribune. His research interest lies at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Mass Communication. He has authored three books, including one on Mobile Journalism. He is editor of a book on AI and media, law and marketing. He has co-filed six inter-disciplinary patents that push the frontiers of storytelling.
