Programme overview 

The Bachelor of anaesthesia and operation theatre technology at Mahindra University, offered in collaboration with Apollo Healthcare Academy, is a four-year programme designed to prepare students for surgical and perioperative care environments. It combines foundational knowledge with hands-on training to build expertise in anaesthesia and operation theatre practices.

Strong foundation in anaesthesia and surgical care

The curriculum, aligned with NCAHP guidelines, builds core knowledge in anaesthetic drugs, gases, surgical instruments and sterilisation practices.

Simulation-based training and lab experience

Students train in advanced laboratories and simulation environments, developing practical skills required for real-time surgical and anaesthesia support.

Clinical exposure through Apollo network

Learners undergo clinical rotations and internships across Apollo hospitals and partner centres, gaining hands-on experience in operation theatres and anaesthesia settings.

FAQs

The 4-year Bachelor of Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology programme consists of eight semesters with a combination of theoretical classes, laboratory sessions as well as clinical postings. 

If you are a candidate who has completed your 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks and studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you are eligible for this course.

Yes, students will receive clinical exposure from the second semester, which includes observation in operating theatres, hands-on training in simulation labs and responsibility in clinical settings. In the year, students get rotation in various departments with supervised participation in actual procedures.
