Ph.D. in Life Sciences

The Ph.D. in Computational Biology at Mahindra University, offered through the Centre for Life Sciences, is an interdisciplinary research-driven program launched in Fall 2023. It integrates biology with cutting-edge computational technologies to address real-world challenges in health, biotechnology, and data science. Students undergo rigorous training in coursework and research methodologies, culminating in a thesis that makes an original contribution to science.

Expected Outcomes

Graduates of the program will:

  • Advanced Knowledge: You will become a real expert in the cool stuff like AI, machine learning, and how it all connects to biology and health!

  • Research Methods: We will get you hands-on training with powerful tools and smart ways to analyze data, from super computers to clever computational models and pipelines.

  • Original Research: Get ready to dive into your own exciting projects, working solo or with others, to discover new things and maybe even create awesome tools, programs, R packages, Python Libraries or a start-up!

  • Pedagogy: You will have the chance to help others learn and even get some tips and tricks on how to be a great mentor in higher education by being a Teaching Assistant for various courses.

  • Communication: We will help you share your novel discoveries with the world through journal publi- cations, research and seminar talks – so everyone can see what you have been up to!

  • Professionalism: We are here to help you navigate the world of scientific professional and ethical standards. Think of it as your toolkit for success in both academic and corporate work environment.
