Nitin Patel
Assistant Professor
He is an Assistant Professor at the Bajaj Engineering Skill Training Centre, Mahindra University, Hyderabad, with expertise in mechanical engineering, robotic additive manufacturing, process optimization, and digital twin technologies. He completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, followed by an M. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal. He pursued his doctoral research as a Ph.D. scholar at the IIT Delhi, focusing on advanced manufacturing technologies.
His research interests include Robotic Cold Metal Transfer–Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (CMT-WAAM), process parameter optimization, industrial automation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and digital twin-based manufacturing systems. He has developed a virtual twin framework for robotic WAAM using RoboDK integrated with Slic3r. The framework facilitates process simulation, toolpath optimization, collision detection, and automated process planning, supporting improved manufacturing accuracy and operational efficiency. His work focuses on integrating robotics, simulation, and intelligent manufacturing technologies to enhance process reliability, productivity, and flexibility. Through his academic and research activities, he contributes to engineering education, practical skill development, and the advancement of smart manufacturing solutions for next-generation industrial applications.
