Established in 2018, the E-cell is the student engagement arm of the centre for entrepreneurship and innovation. It introduces students to entrepreneurial thinking beyond the classroom through peer-led learning, real-world exposure, and participation in innovation ecosystems.
E-cell is led by a student executive team drawn from across disciplines. Students take ownership of planning, partnerships, communications, and execution, building leadership and organisational capability.
The cell functions with guidance from CEI faculty, providing academic grounding, continuity, and alignment with the University’s entrepreneurship and innovation framework.
E-cell members participate in external competitions and platforms, representing Mahindra University at national and international forums.
E-cell publishes a student-led newsletter that captures initiatives, events, participation, and opportunities within the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Newkonomy is E-Cell’s flagship market simulation game designed to introduce students to foundational business concepts such as stock, equity, pricing, marketing strategy, risk, and reward.
Participants take on roles as manufacturers, companies, and customers within a simulated economy, making strategic decisions to maximise value. The simulation has evolved into a signature E-Cell learning format for onboarding new members and encouraging entrepreneurial thinking through practice.
The speaker series brings industry leaders, founders, and professionals to campus for focused talks and workshops. Past sessions include:
These sessions provide practical exposure to innovation, finance, leadership, and start-up strategy.
The E-Cell organises structured visits to innovation and industrial hubs to expose students to real-world entrepreneurial and manufacturing environments.
The E-Cell documentary series explores entrepreneurship, market dynamics, and start-up realities through student-produced films and visual narratives. Themes include marketing success stories and false start-ups, helping students examine both success and failure in innovation-led ventures.
This initiative strengthens research, storytelling, and critical analysis skills while deepening understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The E-Cell actively supports student participation in leading innovation and business competitions by providing mentoring and preparation resources.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell hosted E-Summit 2023 on 15–16 February 2023 at the University Convention Centre. The summit featured keynote talks, panel discussions on emerging start-up domains, and a Start-up Expo showcasing student-led ventures.
Notable sessions included a talk on academic innovation by Dr. Zvi Galil, interactions with Shark Tank India entrepreneurs Ravi and Anuja Kabra (Skippi Ice Pops) and Nikhil Gunda (Gear Head Motors), and a Business Ideation Challenge focused on societal problems. The event concluded with prize distribution and cultural performances in collaboration with SPICMACAY.
E-cell delivers hands-on learning through a range of structured initiatives designed to introduce core entrepreneurial concepts and practical exposure.
