Jyotirmoy Karjee

Dr. Jyotirmoy Karjee received his Ph.D. (Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, in 2014 and was awarded the prestigious European HERITAGE Erasmus Mundus Fellowship for postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He earned his B.E. in Electronics Engineering and M.E. in Information Technology in 2003 and 2005, respectively.

He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at École Centrale School of Engineering, Mahindra University, India. Previously, he served as an Architect at Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore (SRIB) and as a Scientist at TCS Research & Innovation Labs; bringing over 20 years of research experience spanning academia, industrial R&D, Ph.D. research, and postdoctoral research. Dr. Jyotirmoy Karjee specializes in Artificial Intelligence for Next-Generation Wireless Networking and Intelligent Computing, focusing on AI-native 5G/6G networks, Edge AI, distributed and split computing, multimodal AI, IoT, XR communications, and resource-efficient intelligent systems. His research develops scalable, low-latency, AI solutions for future wireless networking and computing infrastructures.

At Samsung Research, he led innovations in AI-driven wireless networking, computing infrastructures, and split computing, contributing to 3GPP standardization, publications and patent filing activities. At TCS Research & Innovation Labs, he conducted research on AI/ML, wireless networking, IoT, and robotic communications, resulting in high-impact publications and patented innovations.

Dr. Karjee has authored numerous papers in leading international journals and conferences, holds multiple patents, received Best Paper Awards (in 2012 & 2023) and is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Professional Member of ACM.

Dr. Jyotirmoy Karjee’s research focuses on Artificial Intelligence for Next-Generation Wireless Networks and Intelligent Computing, encompassing Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI (Large Language Models), Edge AI, Distributed and Split Computing, Computer Vision, Multimodal AI, and Quantum Computing. His research aims to develop intelligent, scalable, and resource-efficient solutions for 5G/6G wireless networks, edge intelligence, distributed AI systems, and multimedia processing across video, audio, and text. His current research emphasizes AI-native wireless networks, edge intelligence, multimodal AI, AI model optimization and partitioning, XR/Metaverse communications, and quantum computing, enabling low-latency, reliable, and intelligent communication and computing infrastructures for beyond-5G and 6G ecosystems.
