Manjula Rani Mallepalli

Dr. Manjula Mallepalli embodies the critical nexus of law, practice and academia. Her doctoral research examined India’s role in the WTO Dispute Settlement System, with a focus on international trade disputes arising under the TRIPS Agreement, the GATS, and the Anti-Dumping Agreement, which provides a deep understanding of the nuances of cross-border commercial transactions that shape the global economy. But her expertise is not purely theoretical. As a former Manager, Litigation in Tax Advisory services at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as an Associate Member of the Company Secretaries of India, she has operated at the sharp end of corporate law, where governance principles are tested and business resilience is reinforced.

She has presented papers on the interface of law with IPRs, AI, disruptive technologies etc., at various national and international conferences held in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. From training IRS Officers at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT, Nagpur) to her role as Professor at the School of Law, her passion is to translate the theoretical aspects into actionable knowledge. She prepares future-ready lawyers who go beyond responding to legal and regulatory risks but they understand them, anticipate them, and develop strategies that are compliant, competitive, and resilient. She has a varied work experience; being associated with senior lawyer had practiced law in Trial and Appellate Courts, Consumer Forum, Labour Tribunal, Tax Tribunal etc., She has been an educator at reputed institutions, including NALSAR University of Law, Bennett University, and Alliance University, teaching a diverse range of law courses. The combination of varied academic qualifications and teaching experience has contributed to an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented approach to legal education. Has expertise in interdisciplinary areas such as Cyber Laws, International Trade Laws, Corporate Laws, and Corporate Governance, Environmental Laws and Management, IPR laws and IPR Management, Marketing Laws and Marketing Management etc.

She was designated as the Subject Expert for several academic courses during her tenure. She has served as the Area Coordinator for Corporate Governance at the Centre for Management Studies at NALSAR. She has delivered guest lectures at reputed institutions, evaluated LL.M. dissertations submitted by students of National Law Universities, and served as a panel member for the selection of Ph.D. candidates. Has also contributed to institutional development by serving on various academic and administrative committees and has undertaken key administrative responsibilities throughout her teaching career.
