Summary
The Chief Executive Officer is the executive head of AIC Mahindra e-Hub Foundation. The role leads the strategy, programmes and team of the Centre and directs its day-to-day functioning, working under the guidance of the Board of Directors.
Reports to the Board of Directors, AIC Mahindra e-Hub Foundation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set the strategic direction of the AIC and prepare its long-term plan, annual operating plan and annual budget for the consideration of the Board.
- Lead the execution of the plan and deliver on the milestones and outcomes committed to Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
- Lead the team of the AIC, allocate responsibilities, set performance expectations and review delivery.
- Plan and monitor the deployment of the AIC’s resources against the approved plan, budget and sanctioned grant heads, and run the operations of the centre within that framework.
- Direct the design of pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration programmes and the selection and graduation of startups.
- Build institutional partnerships with industry, investors, government agencies, academic institutions and ecosystem organisations.
- Pursue opportunities to raise resources for the AIC, and enable portfolio startups to access grants, seed support, pilots and investment.
- Represent the AIC at national and international forums and build its visibility, credibility and networks in the ecosystem.
- Report the performance of the AIC to the Board and place before it the plans, outcomes and information required for its decisions.
QUALIFICATION
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, and a Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Management (M.E./M.Tech. /MS/ MBA / PGDM) from a recognised institution.
- Essential: Formal training, diploma or certification in entrepreneurship development or incubation management from a recognised institution or organisation..
EXPERIENCE
- 12+ years of total work experience with 6+ years in the startup ecosystem, entrepreneurship development, incubation or entrepreneurship education.
- An established network across the Indian startup and innovation ecosystem, including incubators, government bodies, investors and mentors.
- Demonstrated experience of setting up incubation policies, processes and programmes, and of supporting early-stage startups.
- Experience of working in a government-funded incubation centre or grant-supported programme environment.
- Desirable: 3 or more years in a leadership position as head of incubation, or heading an incubator, or innovation cell.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Programme design, facilitation and training delivery for founders and students.
- Strong communication and public speaking before boards, funding agencies, industry and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to lead a team and run the operations of a centre independently within an approved budget.
- Working knowledge of government funding processes, PFMS and utilisation reporting.
- Understanding of early-stage venture building, business models, and startup support instruments.
- Ability to work with mentors, founders, faculty, government agencies and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Willingness to do hands-on operational work alongside the team.
