Gouripriya S.

Quick facts

Dr. Gouripriya S. is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Mahindra University whose research uses computer modelling and finite‑element simulation to study deformation and failure in advanced materials such as amorphous alloys, shape memory alloys and metal‑matrix composites. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay (2019), an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras, and a B.Tech from Kerala University, and previously worked as Research Associate at IIT Bombay, Assistant Professor at Mar Baselios College (Trivandrum) and Engineer at GKN Aerospace India. Her publications in Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Scripta Materialia, Journal of Applied Mechanics and Modelling and Simulation in Materials Science and Engineering develop 3D unit‑cell models for porous bulk metallic glasses and SMA‑reinforced BMG composites and clarify mechanisms of work hardening and compressive failure.

Assistant Professor

My line of research has particular reference to computer modelling and simulation in order to analyze the mechanics of deformation and failure of advanced engineering materials. Some of the materials I have worked on extensively include amorphous alloys, shape memory alloys and metal matrix composites.
