Associate – Events, Outreach & Community (AIC)

Summary
Assists in delivering the events, outreach and communication of the Centre, and that carries the day-to-day work of building and sustaining its startup community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the execution of events, bootcamps, demo days, competitions and visits: publicity, outreach, registrations, venue and material preparation, guest and participant coordination and on-ground support.
- Run the day-to-day rhythm of the incubator community: community groups and channels, the activity calendar, onboarding of new incubatees into the community, and introductions between founders.
- Organise regular community activities such as founder meetups, peer learning sessions, open houses and informal sessions, and sustain engagement with alumni startups and mentors.
- Draft and schedule social media posts, newsletters and campaign material, and maintain the content calendar in consultation with the CEO.
- Capture content from the ground: photographs, video, founder testimonials and inputs for case studies, newsletters and reports.
- Assist with campus outreach and application drives to build the startup pipeline.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from prospective applicants, founders, students and visitors, and route them to the concerned team member.
- Support visitor hosting: walk-throughs of the Centre, coordination of visitor schedules and preparation of material.
- Collect monthly updates and data from incubatees for the startup MIS and follow up until the information is complete.
- Maintain event records, photographs, attendance sheets and feedback, and the databases of startups, mentors, participants and partners.
- Assist with day-to-day office and programme coordination.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the CEO.
QUALIFICATION
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in Management, Communication or a related area; involvement with an E-Cell, IIC, incubator or startup during studies.
EXPERIENCE
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in events, marketing, communication or community roles.
- Fresh graduates with demonstrable exposure to the startup ecosystem may also be considered.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to build rapport with founders and students and to sustain relationships over time.
- Strong operational discipline and the ability to run several activities in parallel without supervision.
- Hands-on social media and content skills across LinkedIn, Instagram and X, including design and video editing tools such as Canva.
- Attention to detail and reliability in follow-through, including persistence in chasing information.
- Good writing ability in English for posts, reports and communication material.
- Comfort in dealing with students, founders, vendors and visitors.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, trackers, documents, dashboards and presentation tools.
- Willingness to do hands-on operational work alongside the team.
