Summary
Runs the incubation function on the ground: cohort delivery, incubatee compliance, portfolio records, documentation and reporting. The role is a delivery and execution role and works to the plans and priorities set by the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run incubation and acceleration cohorts end to end in consultation with the CEO: application drives, screening, the selection process, onboarding, programme delivery and graduation.
- Maintain complete and audit-ready records of the incubation function, including incubatee files, incubation agreements, progress records and minutes of selection and committee meetings.
- Maintain the startup MIS and portfolio data: startups incubated and graduated, funding raised, revenue, jobs created and IP filed, and produce this data on demand.
- Oversee the day-to-day upkeep, allocation and readiness of the incubation and co-working space, and monitor incubatee compliance with the terms of incubation.
- Prepare the documentation required for funding-agency and Board reporting, including activity reports, event and programme completion records, attendance and outcome documentation, and supporting papers for utilisation reporting.
- Collate and hand over bills, vouchers and supporting documents for every incubation activity to the accounts function within the timelines set.
- Support the incubation team in preparing applications for government grants and schemes, and track those applications to closure.
- Support the documentation and record-keeping work of the Centre.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the CEO.
QUALIFICATION
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably in Engineering, Science, Technology or Business Management.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in Technology, Management or Science; certification in incubation management or entrepreneurship development.
EXPERIENCE
- Manager: 5+ years of professional experience, of which at least 3 years in the startup ecosystem.
- Sr. Manager: 8+ years of professional experience, of which at least 5 years in the startup ecosystem, including experience of independently running cohorts and programmes.
- Experience of documentation and reporting in a government-funded or grant-supported programme will be an advantage.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Documentation and record-keeping discipline, with demonstrated ability to maintain audit-ready files and meet reporting deadlines.
- Programme execution: planning, scheduling, follow-through and closure with attention to details.
- Ability to work with mentors, founders, faculty, vendors and visitors.
- Clear written and spoken English for reports, records and correspondence.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, trackers, documents, dashboards and presentation tools.
- Willingness to do hands-on operational work alongside the team.
