  • Job Description

    This position is open for recruiting a lab assistant for the Communication Systems laboratory for 2nd year B. Tech Electronics and Computer Engineering. The lab has communication transceiver devices (Software Defined Radios) used to capture and analy s e contemporary RF signals transmitted by 2G, 4G, and 5G cellular base s tations, Wi Fi, and GPS systems. Since the signal processing is performed in the system, the same hardware can be used to generate many kinds of radio waveforms. The S DR based experiments are designed especially for understanding the fundamentals of Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communications and the present day advanced wireless communication access technologies such as 2G, 4G, and 5G.

    • Hence the lab assistant should have knowledge on the basics of signal processing, digital communication, and wireless communication. The candidate should be aware of 2G, 3G, and 4G physical layer aspects.
    • Knowledge on Linux OS, Python programming, C, and C++ is essential. Having knowledge on SDR and deep learning is a plus.

    The Office of the Head – Centre for Sustainability is tasked with establishing the activities of the Centre by working with the various schools of the University and partnering with established external organizations.     Development of an Autonomous Aerial Robotic System for Harvesting (AARSHa). The project involves development of a multirotor (DRONE) based robotic system for harvesting. A multirotor need to be developed with necessary attachments to solve the needs of the agriculture and entire system has to tested in laboratory and real farms.

    Number of Positions: 01

    Duration of the project: 1 year (extendable based performance of the candidate).

  • Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellow position for a project funded by Ministry of Defence, at Mahindra University, Hyderabad. This is in an interdisciplinary area overlapping Numerical Simulations and Machine Learning. The prospective candidate should be an M.E / M.Tech from a reputed institution in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, with a good background in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Some background in Machine Learning will be a strong plus; candidates without this background will be appropriately trained on the job.

    The selected candidate will be working in a Research & Development role in the area of Physics Informed Neural Networks. The candidate will be encouraged to register and work concurrently towards a Ph.D. degree in an interdisciplinary area covering Fluid Dynamics and Deep Learning. The project duration is three years but the student can continue till completion of work leading to doctoral thesis. Remuneration will be at Rs. 25K per month plus free boarding and lodging at hostels in the Mahindra University campus.
