Mahindra University’s students have yet again emerged victors in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 software edition making it 4 times in a row. The team of 6 students – Swarnim, Sayarnil, Ashwin, Kanishk, Deepesh, and Tanasi, mentored by Dr. Bhanukiran and Dr. Gourav Saha participated in the finals of SIH 2024, held on 19-20 December, at Kohlapur. They were declared winners in the problem statement given by DRDO on vibration analysis of mechanical structures using computer vision. Over 44000 teams from all over the country participated in the hackathon this time with around 200 winning teams.
Dr. Bhanukiran, one of the mentors, said “There’s nothing like witnessing ideas transform into tangible works of art. We witnessed this during the hackathon. The students showed integrity, and great commitment to achieve the set target. I congratulate all the team members for their contribution and zeal.”
The SPOC for SIH at Mahindra University, Dr. Bharghava Rajaram, said that “The final submissions to SIH were made after a rigorous in-house hackathon process, followed by round the clock mentoring.” This, he said, has enabled the students to compete at the highest levels and ensure victory in every SIH since 2019. “Our students can stand with the best in the country”, he concluded.
