Dr. Sonam Sahoo is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Sustainability, Mahindra University, whose research focuses on hydro‑geomorphic processes, river health, and water security. She holds a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from IIT Gandhinagar, was a Fulbright‑Kalam Climate Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Maine (2023–2024), and works on geomorphic river characterization, environmental flow modeling, and geospatial/DEM‑based analysis to support sustainable river basin management.

Sonam Sahoo

Assistant Professor

Dr. Sonam Sahoo is currently an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Sustainability, Mahindra University. Before joining MU, she was a Fulbright-Kalam Climate Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maine, Orono, USA. Dr. Sonam earned her PhD in Earth Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Her research focuses on the dynamics of hydro-geomorphic processes and their implications for river health and water security.
