Mahindra University, Hyderabad has always been at the forefront of energy and water conservation techniques.
The University aims to protect water resources for the country’s future generations. Our Mother Earth nourishes and protects us in various forms, and hence it is our turn to do the same.
The university is committed to its objective of conserving our precious natural sources and follows it by maintaining a green campus and reusing and recycling water by using it to water plants and trees.
Following the footsteps of the Government of India’s Jal Shakti Abhiyan, it is dedicated to ensuring the water security of our country to protect lives and livelihood with its theme for the year 2022 being “Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls’, and accordingly all the recommendations as laid down in the UGC letter No. 2-19/2022(CPP-II) dated 25.03.2022 as given below are being implemented under the following subheads:
- Water conservation and rain water harvesting plan
- Renovation of traditional and other water bodies/tanks
- Reuse, borewell recharge structures
- Watershed development
Further, the campaign has been given wide publicity and accordingly the letter of UGC in this regard has been placed on the website of Mahindra University, Hyderabad.
