Overview

Dr. Nirmal Gupta is a visiting faculty in Executive Education at Mahindra University. He is a Marketing Educator and a Professor of Marketing. Dr. Gupta has earlier worked at several premier business schools. He is currently visiting Professor with ISB, Hyderabad, and other business schools in Asia Pacific. He is actively involved in corporate training Programmes and consulting with large number of organizations. He has worked around the globe with international leaders and Fortune 500 organizations and has taught in more than 20 countries. Dr. Gupta has been a globally acclaimed teacher for Faculty Development Workshops and Teaching Methods Laboratories conducted for Professors of business schools around the world.

Dr. Gupta has written about 40 research papers and articles, 50 cases and a large number of teaching/technical notes. He has presented several research papers in prestigious international conferences. He has co-edited two books in the areas of Management Research and Managing Transition. Dr. Gupta’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of advertising strategy, product management, strategic marketing, and brand building.

Dr. Gupta has won the Best Case Writing and Presentation Award as well as the Best Research Paper Award instituted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) for two consecutive years. He was awarded “The Best Teacher” by the Association of Indian Management Schools in collaboration with the Canadian Consortium of Management Schools. Dr. Gupta has also been awarded “Professor of the Year,” a highly prestigious annual recognition (for outstanding teaching) at ISB, Hyderabad for several years.

Dr. Gupta has been a guest speaker at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; John M. Olin School of Business, Washington University; and California Polytechnic University. He is actively involved in teaching in senior management Programmes offered in collaboration with MIT Executive Education, Tuck Executive Education, and Columbia Business School. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Marketing Educators’ Association, American Academy of Advertising, and of the Society for Marketing Advances. He is a fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science. He is a former director (on the board) of the North American Society for Marketing Education in India. He is also profiled in the “Who’s Who in the World”, and “Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century.”
