The B.A., LL. B (Honours) is an undergraduate program with a multi-disciplinary approach with an emphasis on sociological aspects of the law. This program caters to the requirement of the field of law by transforming a student into a socially relevant and professionally adept lawyer for litigation, judiciary, academia, corporate legal consultation, and other areas of legal practice.
Overview
The B.A., LL. B (Honours) is an undergraduate program with a multi-disciplinary approach with an emphasis on sociological aspects of the law. This program caters to the requirement of the field of law by transforming a student into a socially relevant and professionally adept lawyer for litigation, judiciary, academia, corporate legal consultation, and other areas of legal practice. Besides these areas, this law program provides a strong background to step into the public service commission.
The students of this integrated course will learn various facets of Social Sciences, Economics and core Law subjects. This is a dual degree program in which the first degree has fourteen papers from the Social Sciences and twenty-six core law papers, four clinical papers, eight specialized honors papers and a minimum of five internships. The Social Sciences subjects are Sociology, Political Science, History and Law papers includes Substantive and Procedural law papers, Constitutional Law, Corporate Laws, International Laws and various other laws. The student will be imparted with contemporary legal knowledge to enhance the learning throughout this integrated five-year law program through value-add/audit/seminar courses. This program has an inter and multi-disciplinary approach with a unique blend of law and social sciences aspects, law and economics and legal English. The student has to undergo a minimum of four weeks of internship every academic year and twenty weeks in a five-year course duration. These internships are evaluated by a panel of experts to understand the learning outcome of the intern during the internship period.
