Job Description:
The Centre for Sustainability at Mahindra University invites applications for a Field Assistant (FA) position for a research project focused on industrial air pollution funded by the Telangana Pollution Control Board. The candidate must have with familiarity with primary data collection using structured questionnaires and interviews. This is a unique opportunity for highly motivated graduate/postgraduate students to gain experience in the field of air pollution emissions. The candidate will visit the study area and conduct structured questionnaire surveys using a standardized pre-prepared data sheet to support emission inventory compilation for the study area.
Potential Start Date: 1 December 2025
Tenure: 3 months, with a possible 3-month extension based on performance & project need.
Location: Hyderabad
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys using structured questionnaires and interviews
- Ensure data quality (spot checks, daily debriefs)
- Coordinate with project team
- Adhere strictly to research ethics & data-privacy protocols
Requirements
- Proficiency in English, Hindi and Telugu with strong communication skills is a must
- Bachelor’s in any discipline (social sciences, environment, public health, urban studies, statistics, or related) is preferred
- Willing to travel extensively and adaptable to varying work hours
- Basic proficiency with survey tools Excel/Google Sheets
- Prior data collection/interviewing/field research experience is preferred
