JRF Position: Nanomaterials for High-Performance Supercapacitors

Join our research team! We’re hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on an exciting project developing novel calcium fluoride (CaF₂) nanoparticles for next-generation supercapacitors as part of an ongoing project at MU -VT (Virgina Tech) Interdisciplinary Advanced Research Centre for Transformative Technologies (IARCT2). This role is ideal for candidates passionate about nanomaterials synthesis, energy storage, and cutting-edge electrochemistry.

Project: Design and Development of Calcium Fluoride Nanomaterials for High-Performance Supercapacitors

Location: Mahindra University, Hyderabad, India

Duration: Initially 1 year (extendable based on performance)

Fellowship: As per norms

Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesize and characterize calcium fluoride nanoparticles using wet-chemical/methods.
  • Optimize material properties for supercapacitor electrodes (morphology, surface area, conductivity).
  • Fabricate and test supercapacitor devices; evaluate electrochemical performance (CV, GCD, EIS).
  • Collaborate on data analysis, manuscript writing, and patent drafting.
  • Maintain detailed lab records and present findings regularly.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. M.Sc./M.Tech in Materials Science/Nanotechnology/Chemistry/Physics (min. 60% or equivalent).
  2. Hands-on experience in nanomaterial synthesis (e.g., sol-gel, hydrothermal, precipitation).
  3. Proficiency in material characterization (XRD, SEM/TEM, BET, XPS).
  4. Basic knowledge of electrochemical techniques (CV, EIS) and energy storage devices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with fluoride-based nanomaterials or supercapacitor electrode fabrication.
  • Familiarity with DFT simulations or in-situ characterization.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.

How to Apply:
