Soumya Rajsingh is an early-career legal academic specialising in International Investment Law, Business and Human Rights, and International Economic Law, with over six years of experience in university teaching, research, and academic engagement. Her work focuses on the evolving interface between global investment governance, corporate accountability, and sustainable development, particularly from a Global South perspective.
She has recently submitted her Ph.D. at the Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University, New Delhi. Her doctoral research, titled “The Social Accountability of Investors in the International Investment Legal Framework: A Critical Analysis,” examines the structural imbalance in international investment law and proposes legal pathways for integrating enforceable human rights and social responsibility obligations for investors.
She was awarded a fully funded Visiting Research Fellowship at UNIDROIT, Rome (2025), where she conducted advanced research on investor accountability and international investment contracts. Her teaching is research-led, student-centred, and practice-oriented, aimed at preparing students to engage critically with contemporary international legal and policy challenges.

Her research lies at the intersection of International Investment Law, Business and Human Rights, International Economic Law, and Sustainability. With a regional focus on South Asia, her work examines how investment treaties, domestic law compliance mechanisms, and human-rights-based counterclaims can be used to embed investor accountability and rebalance investor-state relationships.
Her broader research agenda focuses on strengthening accountability frameworks for transnational economic actors and contributing to a more balanced and socially responsive international investment regime.
