Eligibility Criteria for MTech Admission

In order to take the M Tech admission, the candidates must fulfil the following common eligibility criteria:

Aspiring candidates for M Tech admission must hold a full-time degree from any recognised University/Institute, with a minimum aggregate of 60% or an equivalent grade.

Candidates currently in their final semester are also eligible to apply.

  • For GATE qualified applicants: Those with a valid GATE score and a percentile score of 80 and above will undergo an interview for admission.
  • For non-GATE qualified applicants: Those without a valid GATE score or with a percentile score below 80 must participate in a written test conducted by ECSE-MU, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.

Specialisation Requirements

Autonomous Electric Vehicles (A-EV’s): 

  • E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Mechatronics.
  • Valid GATE Score in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

*Applicants with B.Tech. specialisations in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Mechatronics will need to complete a 4-week bridge course before starting the M.Tech. Programme.

Computer Aided Structural Engineering (CASE)

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering
  • Valid GATE score in Civil Engineering

CSE and Data Science

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering
  • Valid GATE score in Computer Science Engineering

Computational Mechanics

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
  • Valid GATE score in the respective discipline
